Escape to the Chateau couple will hit the road for tell-all UK tour after show exit

Axed TV stars Dick and Angel Strawbridge are taking to the road with a UK tour after being given the boot by Channel 4 bosses.

And they are expected to lift the lid on their dramatic exit from the Escape to the Chateau TV show.

The flamboyant couple appeared on the hugely popular home renovations programme for nine series.

They were axed after a foul-mouthed audio recording surfaced, in which Angel could be heard calling a producer a “f***ed up little ****”.

Now they have announced plans for a 33-date tour next year.

Called Dick and Angel’s 2024 All New UK Tour: Forever Home (avec le nitty gritty), tickets are on sale and cost up to £60.

Dick, 63, and Angel, 45, say on their website: “There is only so much of our story that can be told on the telly, and as life at the Chateau continues to evolve, we will share an insight into what it takes to build a forever home.

“Expect an interactive evening of fun, games, myth-busting, plenty of stories, and experience the Chateau like never before. We simply can’t wait, and this time we get to hug you after!” Explaining more about the tour, it says: “They will revisit classic moments, and tell never-before-heard tales.

“They may be an ‘odd couple,’ but this charismatic pair have a love story to share, and a lot to say.”

Last month it was revealed the pair had been axed because of their conduct.

Channel 4 launched an inquiry after production company Two Rivers Media raised concerns about the Strawbridges.

A Channel 4 spokeswoman said: “Following a review, we have taken the decision not to work with Dick and Angel on any new productions in the future.”

Viewers had followed the couple as they did up their 19th-century chateau in Martigné-sur-Mayenne, northwest France.

But new the tour will give the couple a new way of reaching their fans.

Earlier this week, they invited 1,000 fans to their home for an event.

They said: “It’s been a humbling couple of days here for us and our team.

“A thousand Chateau hugs, 1,000 cakes, lots of bubbly in teacups, plenty of smiles, and two wedding proposals took place at our biggest event ever.”
