Escape From Tarkov Teases Possible Robot Companion For Players

Escape From Tarkov

Tarkov players could be about to get a robot friend. The Escape From Tarkov social media accounts have released a teaser video for what looks like a very cool new addition to the hideout, alongside all the other changes we already know about.

In the recent TarkovTV stream, it was confirmed that when the next wipe arrives in August there will be some major new additions to the hideout in Escape From Tarkov. There will be a new wardrobe style section where you can place loadouts on mannequins, as well as a new cultist related area that remains fairly mysterious. However, a the new tease suggests there will be another new addition as well.

A short video released from the official Escape From Tarkov X, formerly Twitter, account starts off with the player in their hideout before they turn around and are greeted by a robot carrying loot. As the robot moves around the hideout, the player grabs a beer bottle from the robot and drinks it, suggesting you will be able to use and interact with items in the hideout if they are equipped on your robot.

There is no word on if this is just a cool idea the devs had or if it will also be included in the hideout overhaul coming with the next wipe, but the latter certainly seems more realistic given this would be a lot of work just for a social media video.

This is by no means a massive feature, but it could be a fun addition to the hideout, which seems to be a big area of focus for the development team in the upcoming wipe. As someone who rarely walks around the hideout, having more things to do in there at earlier levels would be a fun addition.

However, the teaser video has been met with a lot of fans complaining that there are still a lot of issue with Tarkov, and we have no word on when they will be addressed. Many PvE players are still angry at the recent nerf to loot, which is still in effect, and the changes to AI in the PvE mode that will now swarm players on certain maps. Fixes for a lot of these issues were promised, but are yet to materialize, with no word on when the next Tarkov patch will be.

As Tarkov heads towards another wipe we can likely expect the end of wipe events to kick off soon, which will be greatly appreciated as the late wipe gameplay is getting a little stale given we are now in the seventh month of the wipe.
