Erling Haaland set to make final transfer decision as Chelsea battle Man City and Real Madrid

Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland is reportedly set to decide on his next club in the next two weeks, with the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester City pushing for his signature, while Chelsea's interest is also widely reported. Haaland's £63 million release clause is set to become active in the summer, leaving a move for one of Europe's most exciting talents a near certainty.

The 21-year-old is already considered one of the best strikers in the world, having scored 23 goals in 25 appearances this season and 80 in 84 for Dortmund in total. Manchester City was previously reported to be the frontrunner for his signature, with the player's father previously playing for the club.

City reportedly offered an offer of £500,000 per week in a deal that would have made him the Premier League's highest-earning player. However, Real Madrid remains hopeful of tempting him to the Bernabeu, while last summer Haaland was reportedly open to a move to Stamford Bridge.

However, Chelsea's pursuit of the marksman appears to have cooled in recent months. With Romelu Lukaku, Kai Havertz and Timo Werner already on the books and uncertainty mounting over the Blues' new owners, it would be a surprise if Haaland ultimately arrived in west London.

Under Roman Abramovich's current sanctions, the club are unable to negotiate transfers or contracts, putting them at a huge disadvantage to Haaland's other suitors.

Where he ends up is set to be revealed in the next two weeks. According to a report by MailOnline, Haaland will confirm his choice with City, still believing they have the best chance of landing the star. While his initial transfer fee will be just £63 million, fees for agent Mino Raiola and his father, Alfe Inge Haaland, will take the total spend closer to £100 million.
