Erling Haaland sends message to Takumi Minamino after Liverpool demolish Crystal Palace

It was a day to remember for Takumi Minamino as he scored his first Premier League goal for Liverpool.

Minamino opened the scoring as Jurgen Klopp's men thumped Crystal Palace 7-0 at Selhurst Park on Saturday.

After being set up by Sadio Mane, he found the bottom corner of the net with only three minutes on the clock.

Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah then both scored twice, with Mane and Jordan Henderson also on target for the reigning champions.

The result took Liverpool five points clear at the top of the table.

Minamino marked the occasion by posting a picture of him and his team-mates celebrating on Instagram along with the caption: "What a great team performance today. We keep going."

Among those who replied was Borussia Dortmund star - and rumoured Liverpool transfer target - Erling Haaland.

Haaland, who played alongside Minamino at Red Bull Salzburg, posted: "Takuuuuumi" along with a pray emoji.

Minamino responded with a string of emojis - an astonished face, three smirking faces, and fire.

Liverpool skipper Henderson also replied to the original post with raised hands and fire emojis.

Haaland has emerged as one of the hottest properties in world football.

But Dortmund director Michael Zorc recently played down speculation that the prolific Leeds-born 20-year-old could leave the club next year.

"We plan for the long term with Erling," said Zorc. "(Rumours) do not have to be dealt with at all.

"I will see him with us for a long time."
