Your evening Manchester City headlines for Sunday, July 10.
Haaland opens up on the moment Man City reality hit home
Erling Haaland said that facing City on the football pitch opened his eyes to how good they were in a way that watching their games could not.
Haaland, 21, has moved to City for £51m this summer in one of the most exciting transfers in Premier League history as all eyes are on him to see if and how he can improve the Premier League champions. Real Madrid were one of the clubs pushing strongly for a transfer but the Norwegian striker has opted for the club that his dad played for when he was young.
City's new No.9 has watched their games religiously for the last six years since Pep Guardiola took over so does not feel that this style of football will be a mystery to him. However, he was not prepared for what he was about to face when his Dortmund side took on City in a European quarter-final two years ago.
Phillips confirms why he missed City transfer unveiling event
Kalvin Phillips has confirmed that illness prevented him from attending City's transfer unveiling event on Sunday afternoon.
It's already been a highly productive summer for City, who have added four new players to Pep Guardiola's squad. Star striker Haaland has been joined by Julian Alvarez, Stefan Ortega and Phillips.
The new recruits were presented as Blues players in front of supporters at the Etihad but Phillips wasn't alongside his new teammates as he wasn't feeling well. The midfielder confirmed the news on social media, writing: "Really gutted that I wasn’t feeling well enough to make the @ManCity unveiling today."
