Erling Haaland lifts lid on 'insane' celebrations after late Man City winner vs Fulham

Erling Haaland has described the celebrations following his late winner vs Fulham as an 'amazing feeling.'

Manchester City were made to work extremely hard for it but eventually claimed all three points in their Premier League encounter with the Cottagers. Julian Alvarez had given Pep Guardiola's side the lead with an emphatic finish in the first half but disaster struck as Joao Cancelo was sent off and gave away a penalty.

Andreas Pereira levelled the scores and they remained that way right until the 95th minute. Haaland, who was making his return from a spell on the sidelines, had scored earlier but saw it disallowed for offside by VAR but got another opportunity when Kevin De Bruyne slyly won a penalty at the death.

The Norwegian sensation squeezed the ball past Bernd Leno to spark wild celebrations at the Etihad. Haaland has lifted the lid on the emotional scenes.

“It is something that is hard to describe, you just have to experience it yourself," he said on his winner. It is an insane feeling. First of all, with the offside goal, it is not nice, but it is what it is.

"To get the penalty and to score was an amazing feeling. I was really nervous, I have to say. It is about getting through the situation in a proper way and that is what I did. Honestly, I don’t care about how it went in, it is just about getting it in and it was an amazing feeling.”

Haaland also revealed what Guardiola told him as he was brought on from the bench in the second half. He continued: “We changed the formation a bit but for me it was about coming on with energy and to try to get a goal because these three points are really important.

"It was about trying to get it and that is what we did. To play 10 against 11 for 70 minutes, that’s insane to play that good.

"It is difficult to play 10 against 11. All praise to the team because it was an amazing performance. To play 10 against 11 is not easy and to make this possible everybody has to work even more than normal. That is exactly what everybody did and I am really proud of everyone I have to say.”
