Police have launched an appeal following what they call an “extremely distressing” incident in south-east London.

On June 19, at approximately 10.40am, a man approached a woman at a bus stop on South Road, Erith.

The man then proceeded to stand next to the woman before then beginning to masturbate.

The woman soon realised what he was doing and left the bus stop.

The Met has since released an image of a man they want to identify in relation to the incident. No arrests have been made as of yet.

DC Teresa Moore from the Roads and Transport Policing Command said: “I am asking anyone who recognises the man in this image to come forward and speak to police. This was an extremely distressing incident for the woman involved and she has been left scared and upset.

“If you know this man, or have any information which could assist this investigation, please get in contact immediately.”

Anyone with information can contact police on 101 or tweet @MetCC and quote CAD7663/20June.

You can also provide information anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
