Erin McGregor has opened up about having a "rough evening and night" in Tallaght Hospital this week after her son Harry became unwell.

Erin shared her stressful ordeal with her Instagram followers, saying that the night was "the parts of autism I dread & hate". The Dublin native, who is the sister of MMA star Conor McGregor, is mum to six-year-old Harry who has autism and sensory issues.

However, Erin praised Tallaght Hospital for its care toward her family, praising them for their "great understanding" of children with ASD. She said: "Tallaght Hospital really seem to have a great understanding of children with ASD.

"They just get it, they know how to approach the struggles we face. We are home but up most of the night. I will be on in the next few days as I've still work to do on here but Harry will always come first.

The influencer and sister of UFC star Conor McGregor has previously shared her family's journey on social media and has raised awareness of certain issues faced by parents of children with autism.

Erin recently revealed on Instagram that she will "never give up fighting" for her son as he struggles to communicate. In the photo, Harry is wearing a seatbelt with a cover saying "'Non-verbal autism. Unlikely to respond. May resist help. Do not leave unattended. Emergency contact details inside this seatbelt cover."

Alongside a sweet photo of her son, the former Dancing With The Stars contestant shared a message with her fans on what life is like for parents of children with a disability. She talked about the "hidden parts" of their family life.

Erin wrote: "Harry’s seat belt cover. The things a parent of a child with a disability must consider. The things that keep us up at night. The hidden parts that you don’t "get" unless you "get it".'
