Erik ten Hag 'wants' Ibrahim Sangare and more Manchester United transfer rumours

Manchester United are keen to enter the race for PSV Eindhoven star Ibrahim Sangare during the summer transfer window, according to reports. United have been linked with countless midfielders already this summer and Sangare is the latest name to be added to that list.

United want to sign a defensive midfielder in time for next season, having been unable to strengthen that position last summer. Erik ten Hag could yet be tempted into further reinforcements, as well, as Nemanja Matic, Paul Pogba and Juan Mata prepare to leave Old Trafford at the end of their contracts this month.

Leeds talisman Kalvin Phillips and Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona are concrete targets for United this summer, but Sangare has also emerged as a possible alternative. The 24-year-old is known to Ten Hag having been a mainstay at Ajax's main rivals, PSV, over the last few Eredivisie campaigns.

Sky Sports are reporting that United want to sign the Ivorian and he has a £29.9million release clause. However, it's claimed there is further interest from Liverpool and Newcastle. The report adds Sangare wants to move to the Premier League in time for next season.

Elsewhere, reported United target Matthijs de Ligt could be a man in demand this summer window as current club Juventus brace themselves for Premier League bids. United want to snap up a new centre-back as part of their rebuild under Ten Hag.

De Ligt, 22, was on the radar for United in 2019 when he opted for a move to Turin, having progressed through the Ajax ranks under Ten Hag before that. Corriere dello Sport report that De Ligt is being reconsidered by United, with Chelsea also linked.
