Nottingham Forest supporters have been left baffled at James Garner's exclusion from Manchester United's squad for their fixture against Liverpool.
Garner spent last season on loan at Forest where he played a starring role in helping the club seal promotion to the Premier League. The Reds have been linked with the 21-year-old all summer, but a move is yet to materialise.
Despite featuring during pre-season for Erik ten Hag's side, Garner is yet to feature this season for United after being left on the substitutes' bench in the defeats to Brighton and Brentford.

However, despite the Red Devils' heavy 4-0 loss at Brentford, Garner was left out of the squad altogether for the visit of Liverpool on Monday night. With the Reds continually linked with the midfielder, here's what some supporters have had to say...
@cwis75: James Garner not even on the Man United bench, Bring him home.
@NathanNFFC06: Garner not in the team you are having a laugh.
@RobinHorsler: Garner not in the squad for United. Spence not in the squad for Spurs. What a waste of talent.
@MalcolmGapper: Another wasted talent. Shame on you Man United.
@NatalieRachelxx: Watching back last seasons highlights dvd - wonder what Spence and Garner think watching the pure scenes back when now they’re at clubs and on the bench at best. Would still have ‘em both back #NFFC
@MMillennial87: Maybe someone is signing him.
