New Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has not been at the helm for long, but he has already shown he is willing to cull some of the club's blockbuster names.
Both Cristiano Ronaldo, arguably United's best player last term, and club captain Harry Maguire have paid the price for their poor start to the season - both players were axed for the crunch clash against Liverpool last month, and Ten Hag was rewarded with a priceless 2-1 win to help kickstart his reign.
The Dutchman has subsequently made some other bold selection calls. Academy graduate Scott McTominay has kept his place in the team ahead of £70million new boy Casemiro, while England's first-choice left-back Luke Shaw has been relegated to the bench to accommodate Tyrell Malacia.
That approach has yielded an upturn in results on the pitch. Prior to Thursday night's disappointing Europa League defeat against Real Sociedad, United had won four consecutive Premier League matches for the first time in over a year to banish memories of their rotten start to the campaign.
Ten Hag has already had a sizeable impact on a club that was in disarray prior to his arrival. Bruno Fernandes hinted earlier this year that the former Ajax chief had brought some much-needed discipline back to the club - and now fresh details of Ten Hag's approach have emerged.
A new report from The Manchester Evening News has outlined that Ten Hag's 'decisive approach' when it comes to team selections has gone down well with players who had become disillusioned with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's previous approach, which had left many feeling misled on occasions.

Ten Hag is known to be a stickler for professionalism and it's been claimed that the 52-year-old has little tolerance for sloppiness or a lack of effort, with the new United chief described as 'unforgiving'.
Earlier this summer it was revealed that Ten Hag had 'five commandments' that he had shared with his new squad following his appointment which included bans on consuming alcohol during match weeks and personal chefs. Players were also warned that they could end up being dropped from the squad if they are late for training - a rule one player quickly fell foul of.
Ten Hag's meticulous approach has already lifted the mood at Old Trafford, but that hasn't prevented the United chief from trying to make more marginal gains.
The same report outlines that Ten Hag has ordered some members of his squad, including Shaw, to participate in training sessions designed to strengthen their 'weaker-foot' after he discovered the club had a dearth of left-footed players during his initial analysis of last year's playing squad.
