Erik ten Hag showcased two sides to his character during a brief exchange with Martin Tyler before Manchester United's clash with West Ham on Sunday.
In footage that has emerged on social media, Ten Hag walked towards Tyler while heading out to check the Old Trafford pitch before meeting West Ham on Sunday afternoon. United won that game 1-0 as rejuvenated academy graduate Marcus Rashford settled the contest with a powerful header.
That came after Ten Hag watched his players sweep aside Europa League opponents FC Sheriff at the same venue 72 hours earlier. In that sense, it was a perfect week for United as they won back-to-back home matches to extend their unbeaten run to eight in all competitions as Ten Hag continues to make his mark.

Tyler greeted the United manager pre-game on Sunday afternoon, and Ten Hag took the chance to ask how the commentator was feeling. They shook hands and that prompted a short discussion about the previous Europa League victory but, while he accepted the praise, Ten Hag was quick to stress his eyes were well and truly fixed on the challenge ahead.
Tyler said: "Well done the other night. It was a good watch." Ten Hag replied: "Ah new game. New day, new game."
Having been appointed manager earlier this year - following his successful spell at Ajax - Ten Hag has overseen huge improvements at United and has already been heavily praised for his forthright approach to press conferences and other similar media duties.
His unwillingness to revel in the praise being sent his way, instead choosing to focus on the next challenge on the horizon, shows what kind of messages he will be sending the United squad as they aim to reclaim their place in the Champions League.
While United have enjoyed a great start to the season, there's still plenty of work to be done if a top-four spot is to be secured, and Ten Hag is clearly well aware of that.
