As reported by the Manchester Evening News, Ten Hag has emerged as the club's preferred candidate to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on a permanent basis. United have yet to finalise those plans - although they still intend to make an appointment before the end of this season.

Pundit calls for Maguire criticism to end
Harry Maguire has been urged to get tough with his critics by former Premier League defender Martin Keown. He argues that criticism of the £80million captain regularly oversteps the mark.
Despite question marks over his form at Old Trafford and beyond, Maguire has been included in the latest England squad by Gareth Southgate. His teammates Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford were among those to miss out.
Keown was embroiled in a lengthy debate with talkSPORT guest Simon Jordan about Maguire and offered up some advice for the United man. Maguire has been capped 41 times by the national team.
