Cristiano Ronaldo was seen heading down the Old Trafford tunnel before full-time. The superstar was benched for a seventh Premier League game this season and failed to come onto the pitch in the match despite Erik ten Hag making three substitutes.
Just before the clock hit 90 minutes, Ronaldo headed down the tunnel. The exit was spotted by the cameras, but there are other moments United fans may have missed.
Erik ten Hag and Casemiro passionate celebrations
Ten Hag was seen going wild with celebration when Fred converted the opening goal. Some had questioned his decision to play the Brazilian but the Reds boss was justified when Fred netted two minutes after the break, causing the Dutchman to repeatedly punch the air in delight.
Meanwhile, Casemiro delivered a passionate celebration in reaction to Fernandes’ wonderful curling strike for United’s second. He sank to his knees, producing a double first pump in relief and joy.
Fans let the Glazers know they haven’t forgotten
After cheering Fred’s first goal of the season, Old Trafford broke out into a chorus of ‘we want Glazers out’. They let their owners know that, despite the successes of the team, they will not forget or forgive.
Martinez keeps Kane within arm’s length
Lisandro Martinez was seen tracking Harry Kane for a lot of the match and at one stage the duo enjoyed a bit of argy-bargy.
On the half-hour mark, the pair had a very brief off-the-ball exchange which saw them trade arm shoves in one of the several one-on-one encounters they had. The defender had Kane’s number for most of the game, with the striker only eluding him a handful of times.
Ronaldo greets an old friend pre-match
Ronaldo may have been miffed after the game but he was all smiles when he greeted Tottenham chief Fabio Paratici pre-match. He played an important part in bringing the Portugal superstar to Juventus and the duo seemingly still hold a good relationship.
Paratici left the Italian giants after an 11-year stint, joining Spurs in June 2021. Paratici and Ronaldo were spotted together in the Old Trafford tunnel, with the pair sharing a warm embrace prior to kick-off.
