Erik ten Hag has refused to jet off on holiday and unwind before taking on the mammoth task of turning Manchester United back into Premier League title contenders.
Ralf Rangnick will take charge of just one last match at Old Trafford on the final day of the season when Man United travel to London to play Crystal Palace before the curtain comes down on a woeful campaign.
The best United can do is secure a sixth-place finish with a win against the Eagles after already failing to secure Champions League football for next season.
Ten Hag has the weight of the world on his shoulders before even arriving at Old Trafford, where he is expected to quickly turn the Red Devils' fortunes around and bring the glory days back to United.
But despite the pressure, and the fact his colleagues will be jetting off to a Dutch Caribbean island, Ten Hag is keen to get down to work as soon as possible.
"It's time to turn the switch now," said Ten Hag, following Ajax's final game of the campaign, which finished level against Vitesse. "It's something that is needed because there is a lot to take care of and I have the energy for it.
"Tomorrow there will be a party with the (Ajax) staff, but I am not going to Curacao. I think that's understandable. There is a lot of work to do there (United). That is the case with every club."
He added: "A number of things still need to be organised in the staff and also in the selection [at Man United]. We will be working intensively on this from tomorrow."
The Manchester United squad have reportedly been growing increasingly disappointed with the standard of the training sessions at Old Trafford under Rangnick's coaching team.
And the players are looking forward to Ten Hag's takeover in the hope that he will bring news ideas to Carrington to help get the historic club back on the right track.
Jadon Sancho told Premier League Productions he is keen for Ten Hag to inject new energy into the team.
"[I'm looking forward] to start[ing] again fresh, with a new manager coming in, we're looking forward to seeing what his ideas and plans for the team are. You only have to think positively," said Sancho.
"My career is only getting started and, hopefully, it will take off soon. This has been a difficult season, especially being a Manchester United player, with what the club has achieved over the years.
"United is known for winning trophies and being up there with the best. This season has been a difficult one for all of us, but I think we still have to show belief again."
