Ten Hag slams "sleeping" United players

Erik ten Hag accused Manchester United players of "sleeping" amid their disastrous start against Cadiz.

United were 2-0 down after just 13 minutes through goals from Carlos Garcia and Anthony Lozano as Anthony Martial converted a penalty before half-time. Ten Hag replaced all ten outfielders at half-time and Kobbie Mainoo levelled things up quickly, but Cadiz eventually ran out 4-2 winners.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Teden Mengi and Brandon Williams were all starting under Ten Hag for the first time. Williams conceded a free-kick Cadiz led from and Wan-Bissaka was a bystander for the second goal that came from his side, leaving Ten Hag to criticise the starting team during his post-match interview.

Iqbal shares target for United youngsters

Zidane Iqbal says adapting to different conditions against European opposition will help fellow youngsters.

Manchester United travelled to Spain for their warm-weather training camp and they played Cadiz on Wednesday night. United were defeated 4-2 in the friendly match, but it was an opportunity for the Reds' young players to play in front of first-team manager Erik ten Hag.

Anthony Martial and 17-year-old Kobbie Mainoo got on the scoresheet and Iqbal was another youngster to make a statement after winning a penalty, which Martial converted, early in the first half following an excellent run into the area, However, the Spaniards made their experience count upon the restart.
