Incoming Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag will get the chance to see Brandon Williams in action after the left-back pledged his future to the club.
Williams, who received critical acclaim from Gary Neville and Paul Scholes when he made his first-team breakthrough, wants to return to Old Trafford next season and fight for his place. The 21-year-old has spent this season on loan at Norwich, making 24 Premier League appearances.
Williams has played 50 games for United to date, 36 of which came during the 2019-20 campaign. The youngster can also be deployed at right-back and has been capped by England at U20 and U21 levels. Norwich are 20th in the table, 10 points from safety.
Speaking in January 2020 - after Williams kept six clean sheets in seven games for United - Scholes insisted then manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should select the youngster ahead of Luke Shaw. The latter has since become United's primary left-back.
"You'd have to choose him [Williams] at the moment," said Scholes. "I do like Luke Shaw but he just can't string a run of games... at the minute, Brandon Williams is doing that so he is in pole position. He's an excellent defender but he can also get forward as well.
"He's got quality, he's a talented lad and he'll get up and down the pitch. He's got two good feet, I think he's more of a right-footed left-back which is strange. He's got the quality to get forward and the quality to score goals."

Gary Neville added: "I like Brandon Williams. What I like about him specifically is he has that look in his eye of someone that would eat his opponents nose to win the match. Keep going kid! Oh he can play football to which is always a bonus."
Others praised Williams that month. "Another top performance," tweeted Rio Ferdinand following the FA Cup win against Wolves. Gary Lineker added: "The more I watch Brandon Williams, the more I like what I see. Another exciting young English talent."
Interim boss Ralf Rangnick has told Ten Hag he must perform an "open heart operation" at United this summer. Pundits are now expecting several players to join and leave the squad over the coming months, with Williams hoping to re-join.
Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata and Edinson Cavani are among the players expected to quit Old Trafford when their respective deals expire in June. Phil Jones, Nemanja Matic, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Dean Henderson are also tipped to leave.
United have endured a tricky season. They're sixth in the Premier League, six points behind Arsenal in fourth having played a game more. They also failed to challenge in the EFL Cup, FA Cup and Champions League - meaning they've not win a trophy since 2017.
"What I want to do next year is play for Man Utd at left-back and that's my job," said Williams. "That's what I'm determined to do because it's my life and I'll do anything for that. I know I can play in this league, and I know I can get to the top."
