Around this time last year, an adolescent Alejandro Garnacho was instrumental in Manchester United's success in the FA Youth Cup. Garnacho was the poster boy of that side and he celebrated his 18th birthday shortly after lifting the trophy.
The photos of himself, beaming and draped in an Argentinian flag at Old Trafford with the Youth Cup are bound to adorn the walls of his home.
The youngster had made his first-team debut just a few weeks before winning the competition and those few weeks were dreamlike. It's therefore probably not a surprise that Garnacho believed his own hype on the subsequent pre-season tour.

He'd gone from a relatively low-profile talent in the academy, only known by dedicated followers of the youth set-up and journalists, to going viral on social media for his Cristiano Ronaldo-inspired celebration and his unbridled confidence.
He was the only player on the tour of Thailand and Australia not to play a single minute - Tahith Chong played over him - but those concerns about his attitude have since been ironed out and he was recently rewarded with a new deal.
Garnacho has shiny new teeth, seemingly marking the start of his 'Ronaldo transformation', and he was delighted to sign an extension. It was also a proud moment for his family, who Erik ten Hag addressed at Carrington with a heartwarming speech.
“He [Garnacho] is improving and he has improved a lot," a charismatic Ten Hag said. "That is why we are now here and he deserves this, a new contract. It is deserved by his performance and he has fought his way into the team.
“So, it was a huge step and he did magnificently. Now, I hope and I think this new contract is an inspiration and a motivation to do even better. Because it is a big step and today you deserve it. This club needs players who can do incredible things."
In just 12 months since Garnacho lifted the Youth Cup, he's forced his way into the first team and he's physically matured. He's made crucial contributions, he's signed a new deal and confirmed that he just might have something special.
Garnacho has been a genuine game-changing option from the bench this season and the biggest improvement he must strive towards is making an impact across a full 90 minutes, as he's not been as effective when starting.
Jadon Sancho and Antony have a preference to cut inside and a frustrating habit of not taking on the opposition full-back, but Garnacho brings unique quality to the team and his directness makes him a challenge for defenders.
Although he last played on March 12 in the 0-0 draw against Southampton, he returned to the matchday squad for the first time since injury against West Ham at the weekend and the game seemed to be desperate for his introduction.
United lacked energy and their play in the final third was too pedestrian, which allowed West Ham to get back into position. Garnacho would have unsettled their backline with his piercing runs forward but he was an unused substitute.
After the game, Ten Hag explained that decision by saying Martial, Sancho and Marcel Sabitzer were all fit and good options. He was clearly cautious with Garnacho just returning from injury, however, he should be ready to contribute against Wolves.
It seems logical to start Marcus Rashford on the left, Martial down the middle and Antony on the right on Saturday, which is the best attack on paper, but it would be a surprise not to see Garnacho at least make an appearance from the bench.
There are five games remaining this season, including the FA Cup final, and Garnacho's return is a timely boost. United have stuttered in the last few weeks and the attack has looked devoid of ideas, which the young winger can help with.
Garnacho is no longer a secret weapon in the Premier League, but he certainly needs to be used in the coming weeks.
He's a game-changer and he's somebody who can produce a moment of magic from unlikely situations.
