Arsenal are facing competition from Premier League rivals Manchester United for the signing of Shakhtar Donetsk talent Mykhaylo Mudryk.
The Gunners are said to be keen on securing a new winger in the January transfer window having been linked with a move for Mudryk over the past few months. Shakhtar are reluctant to lose their star attacker mid-season with the 21-year-old having already been compared to the likes of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.
Mudryk has previously admitted that he would find it hard to turn down the Gunners should they make a formal approach for his services. Erik ten Hag is thought to have been keeping tabs on the Ukraine international's development since his time in charge of Ajax and could look to beat Mikel Arteta to Mudryk's signing.

Following Cristiano Ronaldo's explosive interview with Piers Morgan in which he criticised Ten Hag over showing a lack of respect to the five-time Ballon d'Or winner, it looks as though the Portuguese superstar's future at Old Trafford is all but over. Ronaldo was keen to leave the club in the summer transfer window, just a year after re-signing for United, and his explosive comments could be what seals a move away from the club.
Should the 37-year-old leave United, Ten Hag will want to replace him in some capacity and United may target a move for Mudryk having tracked the 21-year-old winger for a number of years now, as per The Sun. The Ukraine international scored three times during the Champions League group stages, and was watched by Europe's elite clubs as he netted a stunning solo goal against Celtic.
Shakhtar are reluctant to sell one of their prized assets on the cheap, and would demand a substantial fee, having rebuffed offers below £50million in the summer. It is unlikely United will go for him in January after having huge investment in the squad over the past summer, but Ronaldo's situation could see Ten Hag look to accelerate his summer transfer plans and aim to beat the Gunners to the signing of Mudryk.
