Manchester United have been served up a damning take on their transfer market pulling power this summer.
Having appointed Erik ten Hag as a permanent successor to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the dugout, United have only completed one signing - Netherlands defender Tyrell Malacia - as others such as priority target Frenkie de Jong are still dragging their heels. There are also question marks over Cristiano Ronaldo and his future.
Free agent Christian Eriksen has agreed to sign for United on a three-year contract. However, there is little for new manager Ten Hag to hang his hat on when tempting in further recruits, according to one pundit, as teams including Arsenal and Tottenham have moved beyond them in the pecking order for the modern-day player.

Speaking on radio station talkSPORT, former Premier League frontman turned pundit Gabby Agbonlahor said: "If I had a choice to go to Manchester City or Liverpool before Manchester United, that is a no-brainer. But I would go to Chelsea before Manchester United and I would also choose Spurs.
"If I was a player now and I could go to Spurs or Manchester United, I am going to Spurs, even Arsenal I am going there before Manchester United. They are in a shambles moment.
"[Cristiano] Ronaldo wants to leave because of that. They have got players they can't rely on and even [Frenkie] de Jong from Barcelona, he's like; 'I might go there, but I will see how I feel and let you know in a month'."
Agbonlahor added: "That's what Manchester United have come to. It's embarrassing for Manchester United fans - and everyone associated with them - they have become that club now."
