Erik ten Hag is proving Ole Gunnar Solskjaer right about Manchester United ace Marcus Rashford

Marcus Rashford has been with Manchester United since he was just 7 years old, making his senior debut in February 2016. Fast forward seven years and he is paving his way to becoming one of the best strikers in the world.

Former United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer highlighted the potential he saw in Rashford prior to his Old Trafford departure. “I know that we will see the best of Marcus in the years to come,” he said. “He has done remarkable things at a young age but he is now coming into the best age for a footballer and he is more experienced."

Rashford played a key role in both the Carabao Cup final and the run to said showpiece event. Meanwhile, his Premier League form has United fans dreaming they could be in with a genuine shot of winning their first league title for a decade.

One of the key parts of Rashford's game that has seen him become such a prized asset at the club is his versatility. Though he has played much of his best football for club and country on the left, he has also shown himself capable of leading the line when needed and has even played on the right - attackers who can play anywhere across the frontline and still perform at a high level are like gold dust.

While the 2021/22 season presented Rashford with perhaps the most challenging time of his career as he notched just five goals in the entire season, injuries have also offered the England international plenty of tests throughout his career.

After he hobbled off in the 88th minute against Barcelona last week, fans were left panicking that United could be without their talisman for the Carabao Cup final a few days later. However, as he has done so often before, Rashford came through when United needed him most and notched the second goal in their 2-0 win.

Rashford's desire and ability have never been in question and with a manager like Erik ten Hag helping to unlock his true potential, United could soon have one of the best players in the world at their disposal.
