Erik ten Hag has already warned Manchester United what to expect from Newcastle at Wembley

Erik ten Hag has fired a warning to his Manchester United players following their disappointing draw with Premier League strugglers Leeds United. A win for the Red Devils would have moved the Dutchman's side five points clear of Newcastle United having played a game more than Eddie Howe's side.

However, a raucous away end at Old Trafford spurred on managerless Leeds United to a two goal lead, only for Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho to ensure a share of the spoils at full-time. The Red Devils were left shell shocked by the Whites' aggressive playing style, buoyed on by their fans.

Ten Hag played down the impact of the away supporters at full-time, but also sent his players a warning ahead of the Carabao Cup Final against Newcastle later this month. Howe and his men will end a two decade absences from the home of English football.

Backed by 32,761 supporters in the West End of Wembley, Newcastle supporters will be on top form hoping to roar on the Magpies to some silverware. The Toon Army is well known for their passionate support and Howe will be hoping they act as a 12th man in the Final.

Nonetheless, Ten Hag's message about the travelling away support at home to Leeds will no doubt be the same at Wembley later this month.

When asked about the raucous Whites' atmosphere, the Reds boss told the Manchester Evening News: "We're not playing against the fans, you're playing against the XI who are on the pitch.

"So come on, take your responsibility, first deal with the ball - that was the first mistake - we have good football players. But also make sure we are playing in the right formation because there was a problem with the first goal; there was a wrong decision from the movement from one player.

"Then second: win your battles. Win your battles. Then it's not possible you concede such goals we did. Third point: the rules. Make sure you're disciplined in the rules and in that manner it's too easy how we concede the goals."
