Erik ten Hag has been linked with several of his former players since joining Manchester United and Sebastien Haller is the last name who could reunite with the Old Trafford boss
The Dutchman is set to make wholesale changes in the upcoming transfer window with exits potentially reaching double figures. The Red Devils will be looking to replace them with quality additions as Ten Hag's rebuild gets underway.
Ten Hag is reportedly keen to link up with Jurrien Timber and Antony once again in Manchester as the 52-year-old wants to sign players he can trust.
And Haller is another player, who has previously shone under the manager at the Amsterdam Arena, that is being looked at by United, according to The Sun. The report claims Ten Hag 'could bring the striker with him to Old Trafford'.
It's claimed it would take an offer in the region of £35million for Ajax to consider selling their prized asset, who has two years left on his current deal, after reviving his career in the Netherlands. Haller was a massive flop in the Premier League the first time around with West Ham as he struggled to replicate the form he showed in the Bundesliga with Eintracht Frankfurt.
The Hammers decided to cut their losses with the Ivorian for £20m in the summer of 2019 which seemed a good move for everyone involved. The 27-year-old would get back to the level he showed in Germany, and then some, scoring 31 goals in 46 games since arriving at Ajax.
Ten Hag's attacking style of football brought out the best of him and with United in desperate need of attacking reinforcements without breaking the bank, Haller would be a natural fit at Old Trafford.
Would Sebastien Haller be a success in the Premier League for the second time asking? Let us know in the comment section below
There will be lingering concerns over the fact that Haller was a huge letdown the first time he played in the Premier League, but he isn't the first player to misfire during their first rodeo, but then going on to be a big success story. Just ask Kevin De Bruyne and Mohamed Salah.
The pair didn't make the cut at Chelsea earlier on in their careers, but returning to England with their respective clubs, Manchester City and Liverpool, it's been a completely different story.
They are now arguably the two best players in the Premier League which goes to show that every player deserves a second chance - something that United could provide Haller with.
