Phil Jones, Brandon Williams and Axel Tuanzebe are unlikely to leave Manchester United before the transfer window closes on Thursday.
Jones has not trained with the squad all summer and started two games in the last two years while Tuanzebe left the club's pre-season tour after the first game in Bangkok and Williams has been unavailable through injury for nearly two months.
United want to make at least two signings before next week's 11pm deadline on the night they play Leicester but Ten Hag was coy on the prospect of any more reinforcements.

"I don't know," Ten Hag said of the prospect of more additions. "We need players, clear, but we need the right players. The whole transfer window, we are happy with what we did until now but the bar has to be high."
On Jones, Tuanzebe and Williams, he added: "It can be but we are talking about players who are not available so I don't think they will go out in this window."
United have loaned out Dean Henderson, Alex Telles and Eric Bailly so far this summer but are yet to sell any member of their squad from last season.
Marseille have an obligation to buy Bailly for €6million if he plays a certain number of games and they qualify for the Champions League.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka remains available for transfer, with Crystal Palace interested in re-signing the right-back three years after selling him to United for a fee rising to £50m.
Palace are only prepared to pay £10m for Wan-Bissaka, who could be loaned back to Selhurst Park.
