Erik ten Hag has compiled a four-man striker shortlist after deciding to call time on Anthony Martial's Manchester United career.
United boss Ten Hag is aiming to turn the perennial underachievers into Premier League title contenders. That process has already started - as the likes of Casemiro, Lisandro Martinez, Antony and Christian Eriksen have been signed since last summer.
Ten Hag has also said goodbye to a number of big stars - including Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard and Cristiano Ronaldo - and it appears more famous names could be heading out of Old Trafford in the next window. Martial, 27, is expected to be one of those players.
The France international has impressed on occasion this season, but injury has derailed his progress. He has missed 20 of United's 34 games this season and, according to the Manchester Evening News, is now classed as 'sellable' by Ten Hag and his colleagues.
Ten Hag reportedly wants to replace Martial with either Harry Kane of Tottenham or Victor Osimhen of Napoli. Both strikers are in blistering form this season, with Kane, 29 scoring 17 goals in the Premier League and Osimhen, 24, finding the net 16 times in Serie A.
Osimhen, who represents Nigeria at international level, is one of the most exciting forwards in European football and several clubs are interested in signing him - including Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea. Napoli want around £100million for his services.

That could be problematic, as United will not want to be dragged into a bidding war with Premier League rivals Chelsea. The Blues have been the biggest spenders in Europe since Todd Boehly's consortium completed a takeover of the club last summer.
In terms of Kane, he is proven at Premier League level and would be almost certain to hit the ground running. He also has just 17 months left on his contract, but Tottenham chief Daniel Levy is notoriously difficult to negotiate with. Furthermore, Kane turns 30 in July.
Ten Hag is also believed to be an admirer of Goncalo Ramos of Benfica and Mohammed Kudus of Ajax. Ramos, 21, has hit 18 goals in all competitions for Benfica this term, while Kudus' tally stands at 12. Ten Hag has worked with the latter forward, 22, before.
Martial has 17 months left on his existing deal, although United can automatically extend his contract by a further 12 months. As such, the upcoming window is viewed as the perfect time to recuperate some of the cash they spent on him in September 2015.
United signed Martial from Monaco for an initial £36m, with that fee potentially rising to £58m with add-ons. That was a huge amount at the time, as the forward became the world's most expensive teenage footballer. Transfer values have skyrocketed since.
Martial was named as the Golden Boy that year but has not fulfilled his potential. He has scored just 59 Premier League goals during the last seven-and-a-half seasons and spent the second half of last term on loan at Sevilla.
