Eric Weddle got a call from Raheem Morris about three weeks ago asking if he was fat and out of shape. Weddle told him no, and that’s when he knew the Rams were calling to see if he’d be interested in coming out of retirement for their playoff run.
He’s played in their three postseason games since, leading the Rams in tackles on Sunday against the 49ers. He played every snap and looks just like the player he was in 2019 when he last played with Los Angeles.
Weddle’s also already become a leader in the locker room and on the field despite only being with the team for three weeks this season. He was mic’d up for the NFC Championship Game and it’s easy to see not only his impact on defense, but also the way he can rally teammates.
And after the Rams secured the win, he celebrated with everyone, interrupting interviews, jumping on Andrew Whitworth and sharing a moment with his entire family.
