Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a major boost ahead of their crucial top-four contest with Chelsea on Sunday afternoon.
Currently sitting eight points behind their London rivals but with four games in hand, Antonio Conte's side could move to within five points of the Blues with a win and have the chance to power eight points clear should they win their four games in hand.
After Manchester United's last-gasp victory over West Ham United on Saturday, allied with Arsenal's improved form, the race for the top-four places is hotting up, and few games will be more important than Spurs' trip to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea did beat Tottenham comfortably in the Carabao Cup semi-final, but they have not won in the Premier League in their last four and Spurs will be buoyed by their dramatic win over Leicester City in midweek.
Conte, though, says his team's focus is on improving throughout the season, while admitting the gravity of the forthcoming match. "We want to go and try to play our game, and, after these (last) two games, to learn something more and to be more prepared to play against Chelsea," he said.
"We know they are an important team, and they are good, but we want to play well and get the best possible result."
With that in mind, here is the latest Tottenham injury news before a crucial top-four clash.
Eric Dier
After missing the last four games with a muscular problem, Eric Dier returned to Tottenham training this week and is now available for selection against Chelsea.
His last outing was the New Year's Day win over Watford, and Spurs have failed to keep a clean sheet since, conceding six goals in their last four games, a record the famously defensively organised Conte will be eager to arrest.
With Cristian Romero also on the sidelines through injury, Dier could well slide straight into the starting XI, but even if he is only able to make the bench, his return is most welcome for Spurs' somewhat shaky defence.
What Antonio Conte has said: "We are happy because Eric, today, had a good training session with us and he’s fit, 100 per cent."
Expected return: Chelsea (A) - January 23
Cristian Romero
Cristian Romero is continuing his recovery from a long-term hamstring injury and is 'almost ready to come back'.
Spurs' new centre-back, who impressed before suffering the issue way back in November and is due to play a central role in Conte's rebuilding of the team, will not be available against Chelsea as the game has come slightly too soon for him, but is expected to return after the international break.
He is yet to return to training, but with two weeks off before the FA Cup fourth-round tie with Brighton, he should have time to ready himself.
What Antonio Conte has said: "Cristian is almost ready to come back. For sure, after the international break, he can play, and that’s good news for us."
Expected return: Brighton (A) - February 5
Son Heung-min
Son Heung-min suffered a muscle injury in the first leg of Tottenham's Carabao Cup semi-final against Chelsea. After missing the return leg earlier this month, he is now set to miss the third context with Chelsea in three weeks.
Spurs were handed somewhat of a boost when the North London Derby was postponed, meaning Son could return for one of the biggest games of their season, but he has not yet returned to training and Conte will have to wait until after the international break to gain more information on when his star winger can be brought back into the fold.
What Antonio Conte has said: "Sonny is not available, not yet. We have to wait. He’s recovering very well. I’m sure we will have to wait until after the international break."
Expected return: N/A
