Erez Crossing To Receive First Humanitarian Aid Shipments Into Gaza

Israel ends ban on workers from Gaza as Erez crossing reopened in Gaza City

The Erez crossing into northern Gaza is set to receive the first humanitarian aid shipments into the enclave on Sunday, as confirmed by Israeli officials. This development follows the approval by Israel's security cabinet on Thursday to reopen the crossing, marking the first time since the October 7 Hamas attacks.

In addition to the aid shipments through Erez crossing, officials have also announced that aid deliveries will commence at Ashdod port on Sunday. The decision by the security cabinet to reopen the crossing comes in response to heightened pressure from the United States and other entities following Israel's recent strikes on the World Central Kitchen convoy.

Further efforts to provide assistance to Gaza are underway, with approximately 100 Jordanian aid trucks scheduled to travel directly from Jordan to Gaza via the Kerem Shalom crossing in the south on Saturday. This initiative underscores the increased focus on delivering much-needed aid to the strip.
