'Epic' Tough Runner race coming to Bristol's Ashton Court this summer

Lots of people have got into running over the past year with daily exercise being one of the few reasons allowing us to leave the house during the three lockdowns.

When the weather's nice it can sometimes feel like you're part of a marathon as you head out for your evening jog, with hundreds of fellow runners alongside you on popular routes.

And this summer both new runners and those more experienced will have the chance to go head to head when an "epic" race takes place in the city.

Tough Runner says its 10km event at Ashton Court on July 11 is "set to be one of the most exciting 10ks in England" this year.

The gruelling route will take participants up and down the hills of the deer park as well as through its woodland areas, making for a scenic and challenging trail.

A Tough Runner spokesperson said: "Tough Runner UK have carefully selected a number of locations across England to host our races and Bristol was one that stood out as a must have location.

"Ashton Court Estate has it all - ease of access, scenery, space for more than 1,000 runners and most importantly some epic hills.

"The Bristol Epic 10k will be more than just a race. We have a strong belief that participants need to get the maximum value for money so rest assured we will be putting on an epic show!"

The event is open to both seasoned trail runners and newcomers.
