EPIC museum hosts family friendly events for St Brigid's Day

St. Brigid’s Day is coming and EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum is hosting a family friendly event for those looking to spend the bank holiday with the kids.

The museum offers two events, one suitable for families with children aged six and above, and another one for families with children aged six and under. Both events will be on 6 February, St. Brigid’s Day. The first one, Explorers: Brigid’s Brideogs is a workshop where kids can create their own Brideog doll and get to know more about the customs of spring around the world.

“Learn about why the Irish made Brideogs, what they did with them, and how this relates to other similar customs around the world, all while you craft a Brideog to take home with you,” the event description reads. The ticket for an adult with one child is €12.00.

The event for the youngest ones is called Tiny Tots: Brigid’s Stories, an interactive storytelling drop-in session that is included as part of the EPIC ticket. It utilises historical re-enactment and imaginative storytelling to bring to life stories from Irish history

“Come meet Irish saint and Celtic goddess Brigid as she weaves you a tale about incredible women from Irish history,” the event organisers invite. “Discover the stories of pirates, pilots, mountaineers and poets.”

You can find out more about these events by going to the official website of EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum.
