Enzo Maresca has confirmed Robert Sanchez will start for Chelsea against Tottenham after being dropped for the win at Southampton.
The Spaniard has faced questions over his place in the Blues goal after a number of costly mistakes this season, but Maresca has kept faith in Sanchez while summer signing Filip Jorgensen was played in the cup competitions.
Until Wednesday, when Maresca made seven changes for the trip to Southampton, including in goal. Jorgensen was unable to keep a clean sheet on his Premier League debut but otherwise looked assured in a 5-1 win.
But Maresca made sure to confirm Sanchez will return between the sticks for the London derby on Sunday, though the makeup of the outfield players remains up in the air.
Asked if Jorgensen could face Spurs, Maresca said: "That day we are going to play Sanchez and 10 players. The only one that is sure is Sanchez."
Chelsea may have scored five goals but it was not all pleasant viewing for Maresca, who made sure to point out his team's slow start which saw them go ahead but then immediately concede an equaliser.
He said: "I'm very happy with the five we scored but I'm not happy about the first 10 or 15 minutes when we struggled. The reason why we struggled is because we prepared the game to press them man-to-man but in the first 15 or 20 minutes, we were not pressing them man-to-man.
"This is a team that if you don't go man-to-man, then you struggle to recover the ball.
"Then after that, we adjusted that and the game was much better. But we could score more, but five goals is enough."
