Every relationship is different, particularly when it comes to costs. Some split things, while in other cases, one partner basically subsidizes the other. However, most people, regardless of relationship type or status would not presume to just keep getting “free” money from their partner after being dumped for something they did.
A man shared his story of a deeply entitled ex who cheated on him, then immediately turned around and started demanding money when he dumped her. We reached out to the ex-boyfriend in the story via private message and will update the article when he gets back to us.
Dumping someone of cheating is pretty understandable

Entitled people tend to be a bit delusional

Let’s face it, most people truly struggle to accept downgrades in their lifestyle. As the man notes, before breaking up, he dated this woman for eleven years. A decade’s worth of all-expenses paid dates, vacations and beauty procedures is a great way to forget the ever-present importance of money. There is no such thing as a free lunch, as the saying goes.
Once you get used to something, it’s easy to feel like you are entitled to it. Importantly, they were not married, so there is no moral or legal obligation for him to do anything here. If there was, you best rest assured that she would have already been lawyering up. After all, a person willing to fake hospital photos and DV accusations just for sympathy would use the law in their favor, if it actually was in their favor.
The fact that this woman truly thinks her ex should subsidize her lifestyle after she cheated on him is ridiculous, no matter how one cuts it. As the man notes in the comments, she never even confessed and there is a reasonable chance that she’s done it before. This is normally one of the biggest red lines in any relationship, so even asking about him moving out so she can stay in their home is delusional at best.
Researchers believe there is a link between this sort of entitlement and narcissistic personality disorder (NPD). As mentioned above, these expectations border on delusional, so it stands to reason that the person also harbors other delusions, including a very inflated sense of self. It’s important to note that earned entitlement is healthy, as it helps a person not be “stepped on” but, more often than not, people make demands for things they have no claim to.
The ex seems capable of stooping pretty low for the sake of money

This story also raises another question, why would she cheat if this material lifestyle was so important to her. Psychologists believe that, in general, people who are naturally narcissistic and entitled tend to report lower levels of satisfaction with their relationships. There is a certain tortured logic, where this woman is unhappy in the relationship, so she cheats. It’s not a morally correct thing to do or in any way rational, but it would appear that on some level she truly was not happy.
Entitled people and particularly entitled folks in romantic relationships tend to have personal “contexts” and rules of behavior. In her mind, cheating may have been perfectly acceptable, as she had decided she wasn’t happy enough. So in her mind, her actions were not entirely unacceptable, which then would mean, again, in her mind, the boyfriend kicking her out was just unjust and mean.
As many of the comments have noted (examples can be found below,) he needs to already start taking some proactive steps, as she has shown the capacity to stoop pretty low. Lying about abuse is a major issue, as is contacting his work. She clearly understands how her actions would be perceived, as she doesn’t admit to cheating. This is one of those cases where reconciliation is, at best, unwise.
