Enquiries ongoing after report of 'shooting' in Glasgow

ENQUIRIES are ongoing after a report of a "shooting" in Glasgow.

Police were called to Drumoyne Road in Govan at around 4pm on Friday following a report of a "firearm being discharged" within a premises. 

A 52-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment, where police described his condition as stable. His injury is not thought to be life-threatening.

Armed officers were initially called to the scene but were stood down on Friday evening. 

Police confirmed they are carrying out enquiries following the incident.

Chief Inspector Jordan Dickson said: “We believe this was a targeted incident and there is not thought to be any wider risk to the public. “Officers are carrying out extensive enquiries, including door-to-door and CCTV work. Extra patrols are also being carried out. “Anyone with concerns or information can speak to officers, contact Police Scotland via 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, quoting incident number 2466 of October 24.”
