Enner Valencia's remarkable start to Qatar 2022 has seen his odds slashed to 25/1 to be the top scorer at the World Cup after two goals in the first half against the host nation.
The former West Ham striker had the ball in the back of the net three times inside the opening half an hour with the first goal being ruled out for a confusing offside before being cleared up. The Fenerbache forward then scored a penalty shortly afterwards to start proceedings.
His stunning header midway through the first half capped off a brilliant 45 minutes for Ecuador though, and he now has five goals in just four matches at the World Cup.

Having initially not been fancied among the favourites to be top-scorer at the tournament his odds have been cut by betting sites. Having been at 200/1 before the game, just half an hour in his price was dropped to 25/1. Also at this price is Netherlands attacker Memphis Depay, who also faces Qatar after being drawn in the same group.
Harry Kane won the golden boot at Russia 2018 with six goals and the Tottenham forward remains the favourite at 7/1 with Neymar, Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Cristiano Ronaldo also in the running before playing their first match.
Valencia has started the domestic season in fine form in Turkey, scoring 13 times in 12 games.
