Velan Studios announced the Midnight Murder Club is launching to the PC via Steam in Fall 2024. This first-person shooter party game features hide and seek mechanics along with shooting in the dark.
The game offers players a unique pitch-black gameplay where has players need to creep slowly across the inky darkness of an old Victorian mansion. They'll need to complete the mission and survive armed with only a revolver and flashlight.
As they move across the dark hallways, players need to keep an eye out for other club members who may be hiding in the shadows and more than willing to kill in order to be the last ones standing.
To give everyone a quick look at the mansion, a trailer has been released which you can watch below:
Game Modes
Players can choose from four thrilling modes to play and try to survive. There's Deathmatch where it's all about kill-or-be-killed. This free-for-all and 2v2v2 formation mode has players try to see who gets the most kills. Free for All meanwhile has players navigate across the mansion along and try to be the deadliest one at the end of the round.
In Hunter/Hunted mode, two players are assigned the role of hunter and try to track down and prevent the remaining four players from finding and burning four hidden effigies. The fourth is the Thief in the Night mode which pairs players together in teams of two and try to sneak across the mansion and steal valuable items.
No matter which mode players choose, they're sure to test their wits as they try to navigate the complete darkness with only a flashlight to complete their survival mission.
Talking about this upcoming title, Velan Studios Game Director Eric Feurstein shared that they initially started with the idea of creating a shooter in the dark and later realized they had something unique. He added that with players being able to play "with light, dark and sound," they're able to offer a gameplay experience that's sure to keep the adrenaline pumping.
