England XI vs Hungary: Confirmed team news, starting lineup and injury latest for Nations League game today

Gareth Southgate has handed England debuts to Jarrod Bowen and James Justin in this afternoon’s Nations League opener against Hungary.

The West Ham winger and Leicester full-back both received their first call-ups following excellent club campaigns and have both been thrown straight into the action.

Meanwhile, England will have to cope without Phil Foden after he tested positive for Covid-19 and the Manchester City man is out of Tuesday’s game in Germany too.

Gareth Southgate also faces a shortage of centre-backs as Fikayo Tomori and Marc Guehi won’t feature in Budapest due to pre-existing injuries. Arsenal’s Ben White has already pulled out of the squad.

It means Harry Maguire and Conor Coady start in the heart of defence against Hungary, with Kyle Walker also included in what appears to be a back three.

England starting XI: Pickford, Alexander-Arnold, Walker, Coady, Maguire, Justin, Rice, Bellingham, Mount, Bowen, Kane
