England Women's Euro 2022 fixtures: Full dates and schedule

England kick off the 2022 Women's Euros at Old Trafford against Austria on July 6 as Sarina Wiegman looks to lead the Lionesses to their first European honour.

Four years ago, they finished in fourth place after they were beaten 3-0 by Holland in the semi-final. This time around, England host the competition looking to achieve a feat the men's squad failed to manage a year previous and win the European Championships.

The Lionesses will need to overcome 15 teams if they are to lift the coveted Euros trophy at Wembley at the end of July. In doing so, they will need to reach the final in this competition for the first time since 2009 when they were beaten 6-2 by Germany.

England have been pitted in Group A alongside Austria, Norway and Northern Ireland. Favourites Spain are in Group B alongside record-holders Germany as the hosts are favoured as second favourites.

England's Euro 2022 fixtures

Wednesday 6th July

England vs Austria (20:00 GMT, Old Trafford, Manchester)

Monday 11th July

England vs Norway (20:00 GMT, Community Stadium, Brighton and Hove)

Friday 15th July

Northern Ireland vs England (20:00 GMT, St Mary’s Stadium, Southampton)

Knockout stage permutations

England will be hoping to top Group A but they face the difficult prospect of the runners-up from Group B which features Spain, Germany, Denmark and Finland if they finish in pole position. A win in the quarter-finals over second will see them play the winners of quarter-final three which is the winners of Group C and runners-up of Group D.

Group C sees Portugal, Switzerland, Sweden and reigning champions Holland battle it out for a place in the knockout stages. Meanwhile, France, Belgium, Iceland and Italy make up Group D.

However, should England fail to top the group, they will face the winners of Group A. Should they overcome that obstacle they will face the winners of quarter-final four which are the winners of Group D and runners-up of Group C.

If they reign victorious in the semi-final, a place at Wembley beckons on July 31 in the final.
