England host the USA tonight in an international friendly at Wembley, as the Lionesses take on the world champions in what is a hugely-anticipated bout.
Following on from the success of Sarina Wiegman’s side in the summer, going all the way at Euro 2022, tickets for this fixture sold out in less than 24 hours and it promises to be a memorable affair.
The Lionesses will be without Leah Williamson and Alessia Russo, two of the starts of the Euros campaign, but Beth Mead, this week named England Women’s Player of the Year, will be involved.

This is the first match between the two sides since the 2019 World Cup, when the USA knocked Phil Neville’s England side out in the semi-finals and went on to lift the trophy. While it’s officially a friendly, both sides will be keen to lay down a marker ahead of next year’s tournament in Australia and New Zealand.
