England's potential path to Wembley has become clearer as they look to overcome Spain in their quarter-finals of the Women's Euro 2022.
The hosts emphatically progressed into the knockout stage after their staggering win over Norway, before rubber-stamping their place with a 5-0 rout over Northern Ireland. The tournament's top goalscorer, Beth Mead, scored in each of the Lionesses' group stage matches, with the pick of the bunch being a hat-trick against the Norwegians.
As the UK basks in record-high temperatures, Sarina Wiegman's side are looking to keep their hot-streak going when they meet the pre-tournament favourites Spain at Brighton's AMEX Stadium. Spain were rocked going into the tournament after Ballon d'Or winner Alexia Putellas suffered an ACL injury on the eve of the competition.

In the other section of the knockouts, Germany face Austria whilst France take on the Netherlands. Sarina Wiegman lead Holland to glory five years ago in the same tournament as they knocked out England on course to their momentous triumph.
Already for England, they have welcomed record-breaking crowds at the matches, with the number set to rise as anticipation surrounds Fran Kirby, Ellen White and co. Alessio Russo is also among the tournament's top goalscorers after her brace against Northern Ireland took her to within two of her England teammate, Mead.
