The White Ferns won the toss and chose to bat, a decision that looked like an excellent one when Danni Wyatt was out with the first ball of the match. That was the first of four wickets for Fran Jonas, who ended with career-best figures of four wickets for 22 runs. This included a brilliant caught and bowled to remove Nat Sciver-Brunt for just 16.

England struggled at the top of their innings. It required a 50 partnership from skipper Heather Knight and Charlie Dean to settle things. Dean was eventually dismissed for 24, but Knight's 46 Not Out helped guide her side to 155/7. It means New Zealand require 156 from their 20 overs to avoid a 5-0 series defeat. Suzie Bates and Georgia Plimmer will get their chase going.
