England face their toughest World Cup 2022 challenge yet on Saturday as they come up against France in the quarter-finals. A 3-0 victory over Senegal was enough to see Gareth Southgate's side through with ease.
Goals from Jordan Henderson, Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka secured England's passage into the last eight. The defending champions have been in excellent form so far this tournament with Kylian Mbappe scoring five goals and registering two assists.

What happened last time England played France?
There have been 31 previous meetings between England and France, with England winning 17, France winning nine, and five games have played out for a draw.
Two of these games have come in the group stages of the World Cup and both were won by England. However, in recent history, results have favoured France.
The last competitive fixture between England and France came in Euro 2012, which ended in a 1-1 draw with Joleon Lescott and Samir Nasri getting on the score sheet.
However, this is a much more dangerous France side than England have faced in the past, having won the World Cup in 2018 and having players like Mbappe, Ousmane Dembele, Aurelien Tchouameni and Manchester United's Raphael Varane at the back.
Team News
Raheem Sterling has returned to Qatar after going home to deal with a break-in at his family home but Ben White is still absent from the squad due to family reasons. Callum Wilson is nursing a slight groin injury but is still available if necessary.
England have avoided receiving any yellow cards so far, so no players are at risk of suspension for the semi-final if they progress against France.
Kylian Mbappe was absent from training on Tuesday due to discomfort in his ankle, but he is back in training ahead of the fixture and other than that France have a clean bill of health. If Tchouameni or Jule Kounde receive a yellow card against England they will miss the semi-final but it is unlikely to factor into Didier Deschamps' selection.
What happens next?
The winner of England vs France will play the winner of Morocco vs Portugal.
