There is no doubt these are two of the big beasts in women’s international football. They haven’t met since an international friendly back in April 2021. Le Bleues came out on top on that occasion, winning 3-1 and dominate the head-to-head results.

Centre-back duo Leah Williamson and Millie Bright finally reunite for the Lionesses. The Euros-winning pair have barely played together since that tournament, as both suffered serious injuries playing for their clubs. Williamson, in particular, has been a long-term absentee after suffering an ACL injury. The return of their skipper has been a huge boost to the reigning European champions.

France disappointed in the last World Cup. However, they have plenty of class in their ranks, not least the legendary Wendie Renard, who has just played in her 11th Champions League final. There are also talented newcomers to the squad such as Louna Ribadeira and Ines Benyahia.

Qualifying group A3 is really tight. France are currently on top on six points, with England on four. These two back-to-back meetings between the sides (31 May and 4 June) will have a huge impact on the qualification process. You won’t want to miss them.

Here's how they line up:

England: Earps, Bronze, Williamson, Bright, Carter, Walsh, Stanway, Toone, Mead, Russo, Hemp

France: Peyraud-Magnin; Renard, Lakrar, De Almeida; Dali, D.Cascarino, Toletti, Karchouri, Bacha; Katoto, Diani
