England vs Australia Ashes 2023: Second Test preview

Hostilities resume in the 2023 Ashes series as England and Australia meet for the Second Test at Lord's. Day 1 started in dramatic style with Jonny Bairstow carrying a Just Stop Oil Protestor off the pitch. An unbeaten 85 from Steve Smith gave Australia the advantage on the first day – can an overly casual England sharpen up on day two?  Read on and we'll show you where to watch Ashes live from anywhere.

Australia won the First Test at Edgbaston last time out, with an impressive partnership from captain Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon securing a two-wicket win with just 27 balls left. Heavy rain shortened the final day, but even that couldn't dampen what was an enthralling game of cricket, with impressive batting displays from Usman Khawaja and Joe Root across the five days. That was helped by a lifeless pitch that gave the bowlers little to work with, but it was Australia's more cautious approach that paid off.

England have added teenage leg-spinner Rehan Ahmed to their side for this Second Test. The 18-year-old, who will be the youngest to feature in an Ashes series since 1877, has been called in to support Moeen Ali, whose finger injury restricted him to just 14 overs in Australia's second innings. Ahmed made his Test debut against Pakistan last year and immediately impressed, taking seven wickets, but he's only collected six for Leicestershire this summer. If the Lord's pitch offers as little as Edgbaston, the youngster could be crucial in England's quest for wickets.

Read on to find out how you can watch every ball of the Ashes 2nd Test with an England vs Australia live stream from wherever you are in the world.
