England and Australia meet on the football pitch for the first time in seven years as Wembley hosts the friendly match tonight.
It is cricket, and on occasion rugby, that often dominates one of sport’s major rivalries, but the Australians have travelled to London to take on Gareth Southgate’s side, who have more significant matters to come.

England face Italy on Tuesday night in a Euro 2024 qualifier, when they could seal their place in Germany next summer.
For now though the focus is on Australia and extending what is a six-match unbeaten run since the World Cup.
