England Under-19s boss Ian Foster says his young Three Lions team are “desperate” to beat Israel tonight and win the European Championship.

England, who won the U19 Euros back in 2017, are into the tournament showpiece once more after beating Italy in the semi-finals on Tuesday.

They have been in fine form during the tournament in Slovakia, winning all of their games and conceding just one goal.

One of those victories came against Israel in the group stages, when both sides had already qualified, and Foster says England are determined to go all the way tonight.

“It’s always difficult to say: ‘Oh, they are as good as the 2017 age group’, but what this group does bring is a hell of a lot of togetherness,” Foster told Sky Sports.

“They are really united. They are desperate to play for England, they are absolutely delighted to be here and we know that there is one more step on this journey together.

“We are desperate to win, we are absolutely desperate to win it. They are a good team, Israel, having seen a lot of them prior to the tournament and then seeing them beat France a few days ago. We know that we are up against a tough team.”
