England supporters give Harry Maguire 'rugby tackle' penalty verdict after VAR denial

England fans have given their thoughts on the VAR's decision to not give Harry Maguire a penalty after he was apparently 'rugby-tackled' by Iran defender Rouzbeh Cheshmi.

The incident happened just three minutes in the Three Lions' opening match of this year's World Cup and despite pleas from Maguire and other England players and coaching staff, VAR decided that there was nothing wrong with the tackle.

Many England fans took to social media to share their outrage at how VAR didn't give a penalty to the Three Lions. Here's what they had to say...

@BlueInkRevenge : How have 4 VAR officials sat there and all agreed that wasn’t a penalty on Maguire? What’s the point of them?

@ellotty : FIFA unfit for purpose, making a mockery of the game. VAR not giving a penalty for rugby tackle on Maguire and now not getting the keeper straight off, not looking good for this world cup already, sadly as predicted.
