A pair of England “superfans” are predicting victory against Senegal on Sunday night after their mammoth achievement of seeing a match in all of the eight World Cup stadiums.
Neal Weekes and Fil Sollof have been to a match at every single ground at the World Cup. They will be roaring on Harry Kane and his team at the match against Senegal before flying home at 7.40am on Monday. They are returning on Friday for next Saturday’s quarter final if England win on Sunday.
Former Non-league footballers Neal, 57, an auctioneer, from Greenwich, south east London and his friend, property services owner Fil, 57, from Loughton, Essex, are at their sixth World Cup together.
Neal said: “We’ve now done 15 games in 14 days and have been to every stadium. It’s been an amazing tournament. We’ve really enjoyed it and it’s been a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Now we’ve just got to beat Senegal.”
Fil said: “We’ve been really impressed with the organisation. But why are all the late games at the furthest-away stadium? It’s like getting a shuttle bus from London to Bishop’s Stortford - it’s miles away!”
He added: “I’ve hardly seen any Senegal fans - I think they stadium is going to be all England.”
The fanatical football fans have been to all 92 English Football League grounds. They are flying home after the game on BA 7003 at 7.40am. But if England win, they fly back to the Middle East on Friday.
