England’s men will not start their Test summer until mid-July next year as Jos Buttler’s white-ball side head off to the USA and West Indies to defend the T20 World Cup.
The schedule for the 2024 international summer has been unveiled this morning, with England’s women set to be without a home Test match for the first time since 2020’s Covid-disrupted season.
Both men’s and women’s sides will play concurrent T20 series against Pakistan in May to start the summer, before Heather Knight’s team also play three ODIs against the same opponent and then further series in both white-ball formats against New Zealand.
The men, meanwhile, will travel across the Atlantic after four T20s versus Pakistan, before returning to play three-match Test series against the West Indies, starting July 10, and Sri Lanka, beginning in late August.
The men’s summer concludes with three T20Is and five ODIs against Australia.
London will host three of the six Test matches - two at Lord’s and one at Kia Oval - with both grounds also due to host white-ball matches for both men and women.
England’s women are due to play a Test away in India later in the year, but neither New Zealand or Pakistan will play red-ball matches during their tours, neither side having played a Test since 2004.
