We’ve seen some lovely moments from the 2023 World Cup between players on opposing teams, including one with the USWNT.
This might be the best of them all.
England defeated Nigeria in the penalty kick shootout on Monday, ending Nigeria’s incredible run in the Round of 16 after it got out of the group stages.
Nigerian goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie was distraught, and England players came over to comfort here. While that was happening, Chloe Kelly indicated to the cameraperson to step away.
Pure class, all around, and just a fantastic gesture from England’s players. Here are the videos and photos from that moment:
INCREDIBLY HUMAN MOMENT ♥️ Just moments after scoring the winning penalty for England, Chloe Kelly comforts Nigerian keeper Chiamaka Nnadozie who was absolutely fantastic in this game and throughout the tournament. The best of sports. 🏴🇳🇬

Also huge respect to Chloe Kelly for not really celebrating and going straight over to console Nnadozie, as well as telling the cameras to get lost zooming in on the Nigerians faces#ENG #NGA #ENGNGA pic.twitter.com/DV2YFhQ4SK
