England player ratings as Lionesses retain Arnold Clark Cup as Chloe Kelly shines

The Lionesses secured their second consecutive Arnold Clark Cup trophy at Ashton Gate on Wednesday night following a clinical 6-1 display against Belgium.

Chloe Kelly opened the scoring after 11 minutes as she met a cross from Lauren James and tapped it home after a goalmouth scramble. Right on the brink of half time, Leah Williamson made it two after an England corner as she headed home a Lucy Bronze cross at the back post.

Both then hit the double in the second half, as Lucy Bronze and an own-goal from Julie Biesmans added to England's tally. Red Flames substitute Elena Dhont got one back in additional time with a fantastic strike from distance, but the damage was already done as the Lionesses cruised to victory.

Here's how the players got on at Ashton Gate...

Mary Earps - Had practically nothing to do first half, except keep herself warm. Same story second half, so much so there were huge cheers from the crowd every time she touched the ball. Not a lot she could've done for their goal. 7.

Lucy Bronze - Her cross in for the second goal, inch-perfect to meet Williamson at the back post. Continued to send dangerous crosses into the box, one of which was headed marginally wide by Russo just before the hour mark. 9.

Alex Greenwood - Always there to make crucial interceptions and blocks when she needed to. Also provided an attacking threat out wide and linked up well with Kelly. 8.

Keira Walsh - Moved the ball around well in the middle of the park. Dictated the tempo and continuously recycled possession to keep England on the front foot. Some loose passes in the second half but was quick to win it back every time. 7.

Millie Bright - Headed an effort over the bar just before the half-hour mark to nearly make it two. Had very little to do from a defensive standpoint, but was effective in building up play from the back. 7.

Leah Williamson - Towering header for England’s second goal of the night. Comfortable in everything she did defensively and still provided an attacking threat for her side. 9.

Chloe Kelly - There to tap home a ball in from Lauren James for the opening goal, having nearly set the Chelsea star up herself just a few minutes earlier. Took her second goal really well as she made no mistake from close range. 9.

Georgia Stanway - Early chance in the opening few minutes but fired her effort wide. Consistently urged to shoot from the Ashton Gate crowd but always looked to set up her teammates. Her cross was turned into the net by Belgium defender Julie Biesmans before it could reach Rachel Daly. 8.

Alessia Russo - Looked to make runs in behind by Belgium held their line well and she was caught offside on occasion. Unlucky to see a fantastic effort saved at the near post after she did really well to cut inside and create an opening. 7.

Ella Toone - A naughty looping ball to Chloe Kelly in the first half but the forward was unable to get a strong connection and it was harried out by the Belgium defence for a corner. Her initial shot was parried by the Belgium keeper to set up Kelly’s second of the night. Could’ve had a goal herself as she rattled the post with just under half an hour left to play. 8.

Lauren James - Huge roars from the Ashton Gate crowd every time she got on the ball. Huge chance inside the first 10 minutes as she met a Kelly cross, but there was too much on it and it flew over the bar. 8.
